Which company should I focus on for copper? I'm looking for those that have  manageable debt to survive any economic downturn, are mining in stable political countries,  and have low cost production with reasonable life of current mine(s) for future supply.

We would consider LUN to be one of the 'safest' companies in the sector. They have good management, a good balance sheet, good cash flow, a nice dividend and good growth prospects. Chile and the US account for more than half of their production. (5iResearch)
