AlternativesWe can't know if there are alternatives or not.  MAG had said in their release re the Complant delay that they would pursue other options, while keeping the door open also. If there are no other real options then they have nothing to gain from admitting so. 

I still suspect that Complant has not shut the door but that they realise that the admin delays on their own side play to their own advantage as  MAG (and its investors) grow impatient/desperate with the lack of resolution. This deal was part of the bilateral cooperation agreement between China and Congo (who are keen to see the project built) so it is not in the interests of the Chinese government to disapoint an African partner. What seems to be at issue is the purchase price, and that is not Congo's real concern.
