Pumpers and dumpersI'm intrigued by the allegations occasionally made against certain posters as being either pumpers or dumpers. I have to assume people go the board, participate in it, to gain information and perspectives. But ultimately, we are all on are own and have to do our own DD and live with it. We also have very different investment strategies, and are parsing and sifting the information to find truth, and making decisions to either exit, temporarily or permanently, or stick with the long strategy. The latter, of which I am one, has been a long string of disapointments, though til this week I was still above water. If longs are accused of naivety, I'd have to admit mea culpa, though my investment strategy has been that there is a good underlying project here that has come a long way and has struggled on the last mile, via what, in retrospect, were avoidable management errors. We all know that now.
Are there posters who do so out of manipulative intent, to punt a point of view that they can benefit from? If so, I'm sceptical that it is an effective strategy in moving the numbers as it vastly over estimates the influence of this Board. There are probably 20 people who post regularly, and perhaps twice as much again who come here to read them. It is the bigger boys who can move the numbers and they don't come here for their DD. If I'm wrong, then happy to be proved so by those better in the know. Til then, seeing malign intent is probably not supported by the facts.
Other than that, I came here to learn and it's been an education; MAG has taught me a lot and there are investment mistakes I will seek to avoid in future. But for now, I'm in situ, see the chance of a workable, profitable exit ahead, and have to ride the tiger (or dog if you prefer) to get there.
Regards all.
