Mosaic forecast "further business strength" this year, "with strong demand for potash and phosphates continuing.
"We expect the first quarter of 2015 to reflect normal seasonal spring demand, minimally impacted by accelerated purchases in the fourth quarter of 2014," Mr Prokopanko said, adding that "we are excited for the opportunities we see in the coming year".
The statement follows a difficult period for potash groups, after Uralkali in July 2013 quit the Belarusian Potash Company cartel, undermining pricing power in the nutrient, and prompting a buyer stand-off which spread into other fertilizer markets too.
Groups including Mosaic unveiled a series of profits declines although, with potash prices having stabilised and shown some signs of recovery, helped by production cutbacks, there have been signs of an earnings revival.
K+S in November, for instance, raised its guidance for full-year results, citing "extremely robust" demand for potash. (...)
