Omnicom Reports 8 Percent Rise in Profits
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Advertising giant Omnicom Group Inc.
(NYSE:OMC - news) on Tuesday reported higher third-quarter profits as
the company's new business wins helped offset the downturn in the
advertising sector.
The company, whose clients include soft drinks giant PepsiCo Inc.
(NYSE:PEP - news), said its third-quarter profits were $92.4 million, or
50 cents a share, compared with $85.7 million, or 48 cents a share, a year
ago.
Analysts on average had been expecting the company to post earnings of between 48 cents and 50 cents
a share, with a consensus estimate of 49 cents a share, according to Thomson Financial/First Call.
