RE:Dip in stock price

RE:Dip in stock pricePerhaps the dip in price is due to the multiple news articles of a recession hitting Canada in the 1Q and 2Q 2015 in the past several days. This could have lead to blind selling without understanding the dynamics of this company.  Fear of loss is a powerful emotion.  This emotional stance can have you overlook the positives and improvements which are occuring.

A positive I have seen is acceptance of renewable energy continues to be on an increase.  I went through a leadership program in Georga, USA (its seems as many of you are in BC or "north of the border") in 2011.  During this program we spent a 1/2 day or full day at Georgia Power.  One of the speakers said Georgia wasn't the place for renewable energy and the state didn't have the right sunlight for solar, breeze for wind energy and thus would stick with its coal, gas and nuclear power plants.  They would switch from coal to gas in a few areas.  In fact the speaker said Georgia has less sunlight than Germany which was building a lot of solar at the time; no or minimal renewals would be pursued.  I was personally disappointed and remembered the discussion and conclusions seemed more politiacal than factual in nature.

During the past few years Georgia Power has increased the about of gas power plants as it closed coal plants and has been building an additional to a nuclear plant.

The interesting part to me is the past few months Georgia Power has been pushing/advertising its solar additions and you can select to use solar power vs. traditional.  In 4 years Georgia Power went from solar doesn't fit to please buy solar so we can make a mint!

Georgia Power now states the "The future of solar is bright in Georgia"  https://www.georgiapower.com/about-energy/energy-sources/solar/home.cshtml?hp=rfy_box1

My point, as long as Alterra Power can continue building out power plants and mindsets continue to change (both of which are occuring) the company should do well.

Shareholders should still hold the company accountable.  I have excelled in areas were I had the right individuals holding me accountable in a loving way.  "Complaining is easy, so provide 3 solutions for each complaint or don't open your month" is what I was taught as a kid.  If we want to hold management accountable, shareholders should offer solutions.
