Dividend Would Be a Bonus

Just thinking outside the norm.
What would happen to the stock if they announce a dividend on the financials :-)

Would be nice...

They see themselves as a growth stock right now, not just your normal utility that pays dividends. There are still some big projects in the works that will require financing. They end up selling off percentages of the projects as a JV to finance the project. To the extent they can put up more, they will control a greater percentage of the project. Dividends are nice, but I would rather see growth ...more

I am with you on this point. I want them to retain earnings now and get projects built. I can wait awhile for a steady and hopefully growing stream of dividends. I was hoping they would keep more of Jimmy Creek for themselves. I was saddened initially when they sold off 70% of the interest in the Peru projects. But when I saw the problems Ram Power has run into I can see the wisdom of sharing that ...more

with half a billion shares outstanding I wouldn't expect a divvy coming anytime soon

I guess paying a dividend has more to do with having the cash flow, if the have 10mio to distribute this is 0,02$/share which means something like 6% on current shareprice. personally I would prefer them to put the money in projects that can bring IRR's of 15% and above before paying it as a dividend. And RB said that they are still growing and (I might be wring on that but think to remember) ...more

A dividend would be great. On a previous call they were asked about the plans to pay a dividend. In the call they gave the figure of a payment or dividend that HS Orka paid up to the holding company Alterra owns. They were asked when this would flow through to the shareholders. The answer was when the debt or bonds that financed part of HS Orka were paid off, then they would consider distributing ...more
