Globe says Bombardier scores big British rail car deal Bombardier Inc BBD Shares issued 1,018,625,186 Sep 20 2001 close $13.000 Sep 21 2001 2:40:24 The Globe and Mail reports in its Friday, Sept. 21, edition that Bombardier's mass transit unit, Bombardier Transportation, has won a contract valued at $465-million to supply 240 passenger rail cars to the operator of the South Central rail franchise in Britain. The Globe's Alan Freeman writes that Bombardier will begin delivery of the Electrostar cars to South Central's owner, GOVIA, starting in 2002. The units will be manufactured at Bombardier's plant in Derby, England, with propulsion, train control and communications to come from a Bombardier facility in Vasteras, Sweden. Regards.....
