DRIFTWOOD - LOCATION
DRIFTWOOD - LOCATIONFirst it was Mt Nelson - i thought Driftwood Magnesium deposit was located on this Mt because it was always referred to as - Mount Nelson geology. ( your cue to laugh )
That was until i read the Pope files - and understood that Nelson was just a broad scope of the Nelson range complex of geology.
Last week.... i decided to located Driftwood on google maps,
I was determined to find it's location since it was not on Mt Nelson.
I thought i had pinpointed it the second time - that being - beside Bugaboo Mt.
And of course - way i went on the search for other minerals around Bugaboo .
Ws it al lfor not ?
Yes and No.
Yes... i got the wrong location of Driftwood two time in a row.
But not quite my fault. I also referred to an older article that gave a round about of the
Driftwood location - quite near to Bugaboo.
No... all because of the revelaing of ( ree's ) in carbonates.
Today... i notice another map ( mindat ) showing Driftwood up near Spillman north of Brisco.
I said .. .what the hell ?
Why is it even more north ?
So... i decided to ope nup B.C. claims maps...
Took awhile to understand how to find claims...
So where is this - Driftwood Creke Deposit ?
Open the link below -

Find Bugaboo Park - Brisco area
Look for - Purcell Mountain ( words )
Words Purcell Mountains run right through the - Driftwood -
If you see - Septet Range - your to osouth.
So there's the Driftwood.
One isle over form the Bugaboo.
Which is kind of good - away from the dang parks.

Performed a few more searches on - STROMATOLITES -
Whether bacteria, organisms, or seaweed, many comments on this in the bio sector.
Fro m what i can gather is... these ( things ) lived 3.5 - 4 billion years ago.
Processed - calcium - magnesium - irons... let's just say... lots of minerals.
They produce a - goo - that asists the sediment sands to glue together.
If .... stromatolites are present in sediments or carbonate depoists....
High chance - very high... that it was once a reef / lagoon.
Now... marry all the intel of what others found - REE's - especially Nb + U.... and heavy ree's
are known to be associated to - or with - stromatolites.
We've got a good - 1500m thin width ( 50m ) section called - D-9
Would be smart - check this zonation.
And al lother zones - especially the calc's and dolos that have unusual colors outside the brown, white or greys. And... 350m purple showing above grade.
Keep in mind - Mt Brusslof's photo of Fermsite - niobium - is purple in color.
But so is... flurospar and cobalt and so many other ree minerals....lol
What else did i find today ?
This ole press release - stating MGX - staked more magnesium claims.
All around the lakes i was researching online.
These claims are more southerly....
South of - Driftwood or Bugaboo...
But still... not that far away.
Here's a partial exceprt - since the press is in a PDF format.

(“MGX” or the “Company”) (CSE: XMG) is pleased to report the Company has acquired mineral claims covering seven known magnesite occurrences (the “Prospects”) throughout British Columbia. Field reconnaissance and claim staking have now been completed on the following Prospects:

Topaz Lake (MINFILE No. 082KNE015),
Dunbar Creek (MINFILE No. 082KNE036),
Bott's Lake (MINFILE No. 082KNE035),
Cleland Lake (MINFILE No. 082KNE038),
Mt. Assiniboine (MINFILE No. 082JNW014)
Mt. Eon (MINFILE No. 082JNW001).
Additionally, the Company has staked the Anzac claim (MINFILE No. 093J 008) located near the Mt. Emmett project formerly explored by Norsk Hydro, the last producer of magnesium alloy in Canada. MGX now controls the majority of known magnesite occurrences in British Columbia as reported by the British Columbia Geological Survey (Simandl, 2014).
Do we still have these additional magnesite claims ?
Hope so.
You may want ot find this - pdf - press release on line.
The 3 page pres also shows photos of - red mountain ( aside of Driftwood creek - lower elevation on side of range - the magnesite is seen as, weathered, blue ( aqua ) grey.
While the topaz lake showing - appears there's green/jade colors... could be moss, but... it could also be minerals leaching.
Cheers....
