Driftwood specifically has outlined a, Magnesite deposit.
Outside of this high grade magnesite zone are - dolomites. quartz, etc...

There are such products as, dolomite countertops.
Dolomite is a cousin to, marble.
Dolomite is actually harder than, marble.
Granite, Marble, Dolomite countertops are prone to etching, staining.
Yet.... most home owners gravitate to these stones for asthetic looks.

Is there such a thing as.... Magnestite countertops ?
Yes.... Magnesite Quartz.

Which brings to question....
Could one " engineer " a countertop using magnesite and quartz
using 1/8 mesh and compress using specific resins to manufacture Quartz Magnesite
countertops bypassing the quarry cut stone kind  ?

If doable... all quartz and all dolomite would come into play.
Less waste.  Quary mine, crush to 1/8 mesh, resin molds, matte, satin, gloss top finish.

An idea.

BC Gold Commissioner did approve Driftwood in, 2016.
Interesting.

2018 ( simple MgO )

MGX Minerals' Driftwood Creek preliminary economic assessment puts pre-tax value at C$529.8mln

What would.... engineered quartz magnesite countertops command ?
I would think... far more $$$$ than cheap MgO.
