It isthe  registration of the shares that is being terminated for purposes of trading in the USA, not the shares themselves. The very same shares will be traded on Canadian exchanges.

I agree.  The cost of listing in the USA is approximately $250,000.00/ US/ per year.   I suppose they see the debt load as an impediment to active trading.
