RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: RE: A lot of Money - JD "NML has always stated that they feel that a sustainable operation in schefferville requires creating high quality iron products by using innovative engineering. "
That's interesting - I hadn't really seen (or al least can't remember seeing!) a reference to such a stance in NML's public statements or reports.
The whole of DSO production is committed to Tata's European operations, right?
Is this what dictates the strict regimen of "nothing less than 64.5% Fe products?" Is there a decided distaste for blast furnace feedstock of 61 - 62% Fe at Tata's operations there?
LIM has made the decision to crush and screen their DRO apparently on the basis that the resulting sinter and lump will receive a better price - yet, I assume, any deleterious elements will remain virtually in the same concentration as the original DRO. This would make one think that steel-making customers prefer to start the process with a sized product, even if it is chemically equivalent to the DRO. LIM's specifically stated that the in-pit James operation is a dry process - so there isn't even any washing I guess. So no upgrading at all seems possible. Is there not some >60% Fe DRO in NML's deposits?
