I smell some desperation in the shorts to cover
The axiom here.. all things being equal is.. 'The simplest explanation is the best' (closest to the truth)
As there is no reasonal explanation (vis a vis expectations of a poor ER), today's SP drop is a result of the shorts walking the SP down on low volume to shake shares while they can.
The harder they come, the more longs resolve should be firmed.
