Workers at Dominion Diamond’s Ekati mine and Rio Tinto’s Diavik mine in the Northwest territories were among those sent home this week. Companies operating in the North are hoping to prevent the spread of the virus in these communities, which are at higher risk due to their lack of critical infrastructure and precarious supply chains.

If   the health of  the workforce  and the local communities really  are the #1  priority ,  how  much  longer  will   PVG  continue  to operate  Brucejack.   Well informed sources are now   stating that  this situation  wl l continue  for  6  months or so.  This  number does not  seem  overly  pessimisistic  if  one reviews  the history  in  2018.   SHUT  HER DOWN  FOR  EVERYONES  SAKE!!!!
