Valterra chief geologist, Paulo Aguirre, gives master class.
The new chief geologist, Paulo Aguirre, has very kindly made a few short videos on the mineralization at Lavramento. They are good quality and show just how widespread the mineralization is. There are two slides at the end, one showing a vein and the other showing a nice chunky piece of gold in a pan. Richard has been busy taking samples from all over the mine and running them through the plant in small 25 odd ton batches to define exactly what grade can be recovered in the different areas of the mine. The plant is thoroughly cleaned between batches to give accurate results. This will help Richard work out the best mix of material to give consistent results and get the best out of the plant. Production starting tomorrow I think if all goes to plan.
