RE:I don't know why I'm doing this...but I'm gonna help you outThis is a good point. There is much more graphite in a battery than lithium, lithium would be at most 5%, probably less. Whereas graphite is closer to 30%. And don't forget about Cobalt, Nickel and Manganese which are part of the cathode of the battery, those would also be needed in higher quantities than lithium.

But, the part that makes lithium special here is it's shortage of production. Graphite has many other applications and is produced abundantly by many all over the world. BTR, the leading graphite manufacturer for batteries in China, has a HUGE production and is expanding constantly to match increasing demand. Lithium, in comparison to graphite, is practically a niche product. So, I am agreeing with you, but don't go in blindly, it's not that simple. Just like the Li juniors, only a select few graphite juniors will actually make it to production. NOU is also in Quebec and has some ties to NMX for those that are interested, they have an interesting project that is also making good progress so far.
