RE:RE:RE:WHEN PLANT IS UP AND RUNNING ...AND THERE IS PRODUCTIONYou've bearly scratched the surface my friend.

Volkswagan and BMW announced that they will make all their models available as electric by 2025

Hyundai, Toyotata, Ford, Nissan and pretty much all the automotive companies are actively working on making more EVs and are strongly pushing the market with new partnerships. Ford for instance has a partnership with the University of Michigan and gave them $9million for a new battery lab for new battery development. Currently the use of EVs in North America and Europe is pretty small, but it is HUGE in China due to the subsidies, about 90% of battery use is in China. Frankly, they are making us look bad and Western goverments are increasingly offering their own subsidies and incentives for EVs. It's only a matter of time.

And honestly, EV will eventually be shadowed by the demand of grid energy storage. With more and more wind turbines, solar panels and other non-consistent energy sources, you will need to have batteries to store the electricity during off hours and released during peak hours. Imagine batteries the size of whole buildings. Now that will need a substantial amount of materials. Here is a bunch of articles more or less at random but there is a ton of information out there pointing out that this industry (which is in its infancy even more than EVs) will grow like crazy in the next few years.
