Nordic trustee / NMX bonds settlement proposal

Comment by bigkagan on Jan 29, 2020 12:10am
maybe NMX should throw in a few warrants to sweeten the offer

PROGRESS...... ;-) Out of court settlement agreed by both parties (NMX & Bond Hokders) and IQ / Orion. No mention of Softbank, but I assume they are not a player until the new financing agreement comes into play. Talking about new financing, how soon before Pallinghurst - Traxys make a statement? The next few weeks will be the real crunch for retail investors, are Pallinghurst - Traxys JV ...more

This is more than I thought or preferred.  This is $40M CAD!   I guess this is why they downsized again.  I agree mick ... now comes the financing offers as they don't have this over their heads.   Hopefully there is more interested parties ... more interest translates to a better deal for us (shareholders).  It would be great if PG can keep their prior offer ...more

I think they should do this in phases.  They should raise enough to complete the Whabouchi mine first.  So, they don't have to cover the bond shortfall.  They need about $200M CAD (which was PG investment offer).  They should be able to produce Spodumene Concentrate at a profit as their cost should be about $347 USD per tonne.  Since its selling currently around $500 ...more

PG is looking for battery material precursors (Co, Li, ...), if just spodumene there is many opportunities in Australia.

this should have been done over 2 years ago one of the reasons NMX is under CCAA is because they didn't grow organically and they aimed for the moon without any organic growth... Now it might be a solution but I doubt it. The damage done is already too big...just the screw up cost north of 50 million and that means future profits already spent for nothing. To top it all, if they have started ...more

that's a great idea, forget the enrichment plant, as long as NMX can sell the ore go for it and make some money, let somebody else refine the spodumen into battery Li. The same is with any copper miner - they don't produce copper wires, they sell the copper ore to the smelters who then make copper wires
Comment by Tcheck on Jan 29, 2020 3:07pm
Freight costs to China (3) US$/t 104 charlene sigma lithium produces enriched spodumene and ships it from brezil to china so they pay  104 USD per tonne in shipping ! no it is not profitable to sell enriched spodumene to china or to australia for that matter . there is only one way forward . get the complete financing done  at favourable conditions , it is ...more

By my calculations the $40M is interest for 1 year for the $350M Bonds. Right from the start of the LOI, Pallinghurst stated that they would give $200M plus up to another $400M. They wanted other major stakeholders to "belly up to the bar" to help add more cash to the refinancing. These dealings are probably still going on since the Bond issue is about to be cleared up.

spodumene only estimated at 10 cents/sh by Eight Capital prior bond mess, so in optimistic case relist spodumene only ... 5 cents, less ?
