Lithium price is complex and sometimes obscure, Joe Lowry data are more reliable for us as based on commercial sales to Tier-1 battery/cathode maker (Panasonic, LG, ..). For example SQM use to obtain battery grade by lot selection, so need to dump lower quality at low cost ($6-7) to Chinese transformer who purify salt and sold them at battery quality price. NMX maintain $14/kg for LiOH in last financial, nor lithium price nor market is problem for NMX ... just bad project/cost management and touchy financial structure. There is not 8 bidders (among 13) for nothing, pretty big amount, and seems mostly solid international player.
