Nanoxplore Buy Out Martinrea's Voltaxplore Position ...

Martinrea originally invested $4 million for 50% of Voltaxplore, and has now sold its position for $10 million in Nanoxplore equity to Nanoxplore. 

No idea if Martinrea injected any further capital beyond its initial $4million, but likely comes out very OK on the deal (unless GRA shares go significantly further in the tank ). However, by accepting Nanoxplore shares and further increasing its already very significant position in GRA (Nanoxplore TSX symbol), Martinrea significantly spreads its risk beyond depending soley on the battery potential of Voltaxplore.

Don't understand how this improves Voltaxplore's potential for outside financing, but don't understand the nuances of government funding either.

Too bad the market has held Nanoxplore shares so low, as two years ago we could have purchased Martinrea's position for about half as many shares.

I am ok with this transaction....the dilution goes to NanoXplore's largest shareholder, NanoXplore has full control of VoltaXplore, NanoXplore and Martinrea agreed to extend their existing graphene commercial agreement by another 5 years to 10 years which reinforces the strong relationship between the two companies. Martinrae is a very well run company and and have showed they management ...more
