Is GRA.T being dumped from the MSCI Small Cap Index, Nov30?

The particpant named FL1pper over at the ceo.ca investors bulliten board has clearly stated the immediately following over at ceo.ca.

@Fl1pper "Just learned that GRA is being booted out of the Morgan Stanley Small Cap index on Nov 30. Hopefully it finds a bottom before then."

Well, at least that suggests some reasonong behind the fairly pronounced selloff of late.  As I recall, wasn't the proposed addition of Nanoxplore shares to a fund the catalyst that precipitated the run to $9 per share some where in the dark recesses of my memory.

You recal correctly Dumont. Here's the question. If that happened and created the massive upward swing in the nanoXplore share price, what happens when NanoXplore is delisted from the MSCI Canada Small Cap Index and all the index funds investments managers and their clients elect to dump during one day before the 30th of November?

The same thing happens, but in reverse. There may be a scramble at the exit gate as funds try to sell at the same time, but thereafter sanity prevails and the share price moves back up to where it represents something of the true value of the company. Just as quickly as the share price fell from the lofty $9. value when the market realized what had happened in that runup many years gone by, it ...more

Yes Dumont. I to have suspected much "the same thing happens, but in reverse". As you suggest, "when shareholders (or ex shareholders) realize how they had been snookered by unnamed Hedge Fund, Tax loss sales and the untimely decision to remove the company from the MSCI Small Cap Fund" - all of which I have suggested was afoot for some time now during the commencement of ...more
