Voltaren should be banned - study

Tue, 14 Sep 2010 1:07p.m.

One of this country's most popular pain killers should be banned, according to a major Danish study.

The study says diclofenac, sold here as Voltaren, is linked to an 86 percent higher chance of stroke in those not thought to be at risk.

It also said there's a higher risk of stroke in those taking high doses of ibuprofen, which is in the painkiller Nurofen.

The study examined data from the entire Danish population of 5.5 million people but the company that makes Voltaren has dismissed it.

Here is the story if you want to watch.
