As Joe Lowry says, interesting, early days with lots to prove. Commercial scale viability may be an issue, end solution is still water that needs to be transformed into a powder for processing. Cost of this process is what will determine the projects success. It'll still be sometime before anyone knows.

Just to get the comments on this rolling, this is what I understand so far. LAK partnering with Lilac has the potential to produce 25-50k tones carbonate at an estimated cost of 3200$ usd/tonne. This are still unproven numbers for commercial production for a company that will require something in the area of 1.2 billion in capital costs... Still I like Neos numbers, less then a third the capital ...more

Tiger? Neo? Rudy? Anyone???

Greek, not really :-( Klein and Hooper have left the field as just mere "rockers", only Lowry and Fuelling remain. Hail to Elon and LFP. The world needs everything that can be produced and that leads to opportunities and production may cost a pretty penny. Two weeks ago, I sent a sample of my soil and a few pieces of rock to a lab to test for Li content and, when (not if) found, an ...more

There are several promising tech that developing to improve Li extraction process to lower cost, allow low grades to be cost effectgife, to imporve recoverability.  Rincon Lithium for example trying to use heat tech instead of ponds: https://www.bnamericas.com/en/news/australias-rincon-revamps-argentina-lithium-project Filtering tech is in ongoing stage. I am sure, something will work and ...more

Neo, excellemt summary.  My comments are: We will need ALL SORTS of lithiums, either rock, clay, and brine. DLE is the future way to prodcue lithium quickly and efficiently, however, the technoly is not plug and play, and need a lot of tunning.  Currently it is more of laboratory scale, it may not be easily scaled up.  Also, the Capex and Opex may not be low.  I know the ...more

Thanks guys, I sent an email to Carlos V. The other day asking the same question, he got back to me right away. Neo pretty much summed up the response. He clarified that DLE poses no threat to NLC. To answer one of Tigers questions, LAC has an inferior product and DLE is their only option. Again huge infrastructure required which includes massive capex and opex. Traditional proven method of ponds ...more

Hi ALL, One more comment but important one:  DLE still needs a lots of water, FRESH water.  DLE may save some money on pond cost, but still requires High CAPEX. tiger

Sorry I made a typo that may lead to some confusion, I was referring to LAK with the inferior product not LAC,  Sorry to all LAC investors!
