A consolidated approach

A consolidated approachWe are all (most if not all, I have to make assumptions here) posting on this board because we are invested in HIP. We all have different opinions and approaches but the bottom line is we want our investments to make money. While we are arguing amongst ourselves and some of us individually making efforts to prod the management into action we are essentially powerless as individual investors, unless someone here has a really massive amount (50 million plus) of shares which I highly doubt.

So what if there was a way to create a consolidated approach through a 3rd party representative to push for what we collectively want management to provide ? This might result in more than "we are sticking with the plan" or "a number strategic initiatives that we are working diligently on" if this 3rd party were to then contact management directly on behalf of our collective interests ? IR is simply a screen for management to hide behind after all and will not result in anything but vagaries and or pleasantries.

I realize that this is a tall order, but also it is the only way I think we would ever be taken seriously. I also realize that even if we managed to form such a collective voice that the overall impact of the number of shares would pale in comparison with those held by the underwriters etc. However it could be an interesting social experiment at least, and who knows, maybe we could make a small difference.

I am aware that this concept is highly utopian and probably simply a laughable fantasy, but you never know what will work until you try. Personally I am tired of arguing with people here who have the same basic desire as myself which is to hold a valued stock when the problem lies in squarely in the inactions currently being displayed to us by management.

If anyone has something to add in regards to structuring or further developing this idea that would be interesting to read. Please take a deep breath before you launch into name calling etc. It won't be useful and it will help keep things more civil around here. Especially when high volatility is already a natural mechanical characteristic of the this sector.

Thoughts ?
