I had HIP shares bought at 32 cents. In the middle of the hostile takeover negotiations I sold my HIP shares and bought Cannimed for $26 thinking that would be the absolute cheapest it could end up being.
When the dust settled the Cannimed shares were worth $43. Aurora paid out a mix of cash and stock.
I took the cash portion and used it to circle back and repurchase HIP shares.
I ended up with 18775 Aurora shares (which I still have) and 50000 HIP shares. I have since added 100,000 HIP.A warrants and plan to add more and will likely also by some HEXO now that I see how absurdly undervalued it is.
Mergers are fantastic opportunities if you have a clue about how mergers work and where the value is for each company.
Instead of moaning about how bad a deal is maybe folks should take a minute and think about what might be happening behind the scenes that would make it all make sense and what might make this a good deal for everyone. When you figure that out you will figure out how to profit the most from what is happening.
I find it amazing that people seem to think that the people running the show are idiots. Guess what? No one gets to be a CEO by being inept. There are, however, an infinite number of clueless investors who seem to have advice for everyone.
