HIP, Aurora and Cannimed: How is this all going to end?

There will be some important votes happening this month.  Newstrike will vote on the 17th to determine whether it should go forward with the deal proposed by CanniMed, while shareholders of CanniMed will vote on the 23rd.

One way or another, the picture will start to get clearer before the month is over. The key vote could come from CanniMed shareholders, as a no? vote to the Newstrike deal might suggest a preference for the Aurora deal, while a yes? vote could finally put an end to it. However, if both Newstrike and Aurora shareholders are not in favour of the deals, then the CanniMed vote will not be necessary.

Rigth now everything is a crapshoot but here's one possible scenario. 1) Newstrike approves merger with Cannimed tomorrow... People panic. HIP goes down....but 2) This creates more incentive for CMED to vote yes to deal because CMED HIP combo would be fantastix... so CMED stock goes up... HIP stock in response also starts to recover when everyone realizes CMED and HIP would actually be very ...more

don't agree 2),   39% of CMED want to go to ACB, only need 11% say NO, then no deal between CMED and HIP.   do the math , you will figure it out

Lockup agreement just means u can't sell your shares for a period of time... Does not mean you have to vote a certain way in the mean time.  Much has changed since those shares were locked up. No telling how these shareholders will vote on the CMED HIP merger now that the market has moved so dramatically.

So why CMED CEO sued those share holders ? Are they friends each other?
Comment by bepositiveTA on Jan 16, 2018 11:45am
Well if its a high end mess then no one can stop the merger.
Comment by londonsate on Jan 16, 2018 11:48am
because up level is having issue, 99% CMED will say NO, and pay HIP 9Mil free money

This stock is a time bomb in my opinion. You just have to ask yourself if you hold shares here, "When was the last time things went really good for me?"

or to quote Dirty Harry....  "are ya feelin' lucky punk" ?

HIP is purposely bring the price back down for the deal. Bad

If you are Zettl you have to do anything you can to turn up the heat = on the whole situtation.  Litigation or threat of litigation is always an option in the playbook.
Comment by Zulfikar on Jan 16, 2018 12:30pm
That is incorrect. Lockup means that locked up shareholders CANNOT vote in favour of Newstrike deal: Lock-Up of Shareholders of CanniMed In connection with the proposal, Aurora has entered into irrevocable lock-up agreements in support of its proposal from shareholders representing approximately 38% of CanniMed's outstanding shares. Under the lock-up agreements, the locked-up shareholders are ...more

NICE explaination
Comment by bepositiveTA on Jan 16, 2018 12:47pm
Most of the CMED shareholders wants to go with Aurora thats the reason they involved the experts to convince the share holder to vote FOR HIP merger.
Comment by Sevam123 on Jan 16, 2018 12:52pm
If that is true then I stand corrected Zulfikar. How did you find this because it is very important info? If the language of those lockup agreements is available I'd really like to read them. Are they on Sedar or something?

I keep reading that HIP members get a vote, but I can't find the link to vote anywhere. will it be on their website tomorrow?
Comment by Kerryokequeen on Jan 16, 2018 1:18pm
I voted online...if you have your voting package (thick book got mailed to you) you will have a "Control Number" just log on to "proxyvote.com" and enter your info and vote!  takes 2 minutes. I hope this helps

Comment by Sevam123 on Jan 16, 2018 1:40pm
This is correct.  I believe to vote you must have held shares on Nov 30th/17. I voted in December.
