I can smell money
I think a lot of people are missing the subtle hints here . For those who are unaware , Gord Downie was the electrifying frontman for the Tragically HIP when they were in their prime . Since his passing , the band has moved on from performing and are now invested in Newstrike Brands , among many other ventures . The fact that Steam Whistle brewing has a great connection to the band , and they are donating to the 50% of their profits in February to the DOWNIEwenjack fund , to me says that they are throwing out a cryptic hint. Its been no secret that Steam Whistle has been searching for a partner to enter the cannabis game . BOTH steam whistle and HIP /UP are not only Canadian focused brands , but also Ontario natives . This sounds ideal and like a perfect match . Both aiming to be purely recognized by Canadians , and both focused on quality and craftsmanship. recently HIP has added a few executives to their team , one of which is a M&A specialist ! They also switched accounting firm to KPMG , a firm which specializes as well in - M&A . ... I can understand the constant yoyo feeling must get old or tiresome for a few , but make no mistake , this is a game of patience . Newstrike brands will pull through on their goal to be top 5 in Canada
