If you haven't figured out yet Newsletters have ulYou're kidding yourself. Brent starts covering NES after it hits the biggest gold intercept in the past year on a property next to G.TO with over 88,000 hectares of land and he doesn't have a position so figures he'll catch readers checking in over the weekend on his thoughts and will see he isn't issuing a buy recommendation but instead not as impressed with the results as others. Meanwhile James West who found Ventana - VEN, International Tower Hill - ITH, Canaco - CAN, Copper Fox - CUU, Colossus Minerals.. the list goes on likes it and is betting the farm..
Personally I'll take stock performance in the past year's picks over geological drivel from Brent Cook.
Just another example of timely newsletter articles..
I received a newsletter on CUU informing me the price had tripled the past year and the newsletter was exiting the position at $1.08 at the end of January up 300% as they saw no more near term catalysts in the near future.
Being an investor there is no stock with more near term catalysts than CUU so I knew they were full of it (what is the point of paying for a newsletter that can't even do research)?
CUU had a Resource Estimate, Feasability, Deep drilling and Northwest Transmission Line announcement as well as Aerial survey on the way but there was no "near term catalysts" .. Give me a break.
Point is CUU is trading 250% higher now 3 months later and they were ticked pink to pick up investors shares over a $1.00 when they released that newsletter I'm sure.
I don't know if anyone here is familar with BullmarketRun but they said the Index would hit 1900 points (TSX - V) a month and a half ago and even though I trust their opinions people always have ulterior motives.. How fitting at the time they called for a 1900 bottom they were in 90% cash, sure must have been nice stealing shares off their readers before it rallied in a week back to 2465 the all time high.
Bottom line here is trust yourself and the best gold intercept of 2011, don't take profits here under $3 unless you want to leave a serious amount of money on the table.
