RE: RE: I hope you're right You're wrong on that one . According to the constitution of Canada the provinces have the right to set royalties on resources as they please . Every province is different , there is no national policy . Four years ago Stelmach raised royalties across the board . Even longterm agreements on tarsand oil were cancelled and increased by app 25 % . Since the royalty rates were lower in BC and Saskatchewan drilling for gas in Alberta dropped off considerably . With lower natgas prices and reduced activity almost all the natgas royalties were repealed . This is what lead to Stelmachs downfall because it was realized what a moron he was .
Regarding the export of natgas . What will the royalty rate be based on . Will it be based on the wellhead price , maybe 25 % of $ 3.00 per mcf . Or will it be 25 % of the export price or $ 10.00 per mcf . Or as I mentioned before what it an NDP government tries to go for 40 0r 50 % royalty . What if they implement a windfall royalty rate . What if they implement a fracking moratorium ?
You aren't going to see this project proceed until after May 2013 . The deadline for approval ( company approval ) has already been changed from March 31, 2012 to maybe Dec 31 , 2012 , whats another 6 months .
