Canadian Operations segment includes the exploration for, development of, and production of oil, NGLs, natural gas and other activities within Canada. Market Optimization segment is primarily responsible for the sale of the Company’s production to third-party customers and enhancing the associated netback price. The segment’s activities also include third-party purchases and sales of product to provide operational flexibility.

I think the idea of the collars is to protect againt utter downside carnage that threatens financial health of the company - while not giving away everything on the upside, which is a diferent type of pain. I am not sure how well it works. OVV and Encana before it could tech a master's class on how not to time hedges. Yet here we are printing monet and rapidly paying down debt and buying in shares. There is nothing that efficient operations and sky high enrgy prices cannot fix.
