Not a peep on Canadian news media

about OVV earnings that I could find. I guess she's the black sheep of the oil family now here in Canada. Even the Duvernay asset sale wasn't enough to get reported about. But I did see this today. Seems inline with what OVV got.

>>>Canadian oil and gas producer Crescent Point Energy Corp said it has agreed to buy Duvernay shale light oil assets in Alberta from oil major Royal Dutch Shell’s Canadian unit for $900 million. The deal comprises $550 million in cash and 50 million shares (valued at $157 million) in Crescent Point Energy common stock. Subject to regulatory approvals, the transaction is expected to close in April 2021.The assets generate around 30,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, with 57 per cent condensate, 35 per cent shale gas and 8 per cent natural gas liquids.

It's not a Canadian company anymore that's why. Just a matter of time and the tsx listing will be dropped. if they get a bid, they will sell all their Canadian production. The Canadian press doesn't cover marathon, eog, Exxon either.

Maxmoe Nonsense. FP, G&M, etc. post earnings results of US companies all the time. And in this case, the announcement of the Duverney asset sale is Canadian oilpatch news. Did the Canadian press not report on asset sales by US firms, for example, like CVX intent to sell its stake in the BC LNG project? And OVV will NOT sell Montney. That's a core asset. Seems like you're out of touch ...more

Disagree. None of us care so press here doesn't follow small caps in the USA unless it's something earthshattering or highly scandalous..ovv isn't the former, for sure.

OVV is still has a significant operating base in Canada, much bigger than a bunch of real small caps Canadian media don't hesitate to report on. The company still trades on the TSX, so they are doing Canadian investors a great disservice by not at least posting earnings news. But of course like you stated they have no problem throwing jabs at the black sheep whenever there's ' ...more

There are many significant operations in Canada controlled by foreigners, especially Americans. Fewer than 5 years ago , but still many that dwarf OVV. The Canadian press rarely reports on any of them either unless they are doing a deal with a Canadian company. Conoco comes to mind as a prime example. Cop isn't listed in Canada and I doubt ovv will be much longer either. I hope they spin off ...more

Here is further evidence the issue was power, not temperature.  from Bloomberg Marathon Oil Corp., Devon Energy Corp. and Verdun Oil Co LLC have begun using restored power from local grids or generators to restart output across the Eagle Ford shale basin
