Florence City is run by rankin an 80 yr old guy and town council which is controlled by developers and influeneced by Southwestvaluepartners that hold land next to Curis.  Florence city had a sulphuirc acid ordinace that was thrown out of court.  Curis copper project has 50% deposit which is on state land and 50% which is on land in the city of Florence limits.  Curis plans to go ahead on the state portion with copper extraction which is 50% of deposit and will take 6 to 8 yrs before they need the land in the city limits.  Eminent domain - City of Florence is broke how are they going to pay for it.  For eminent domain city has to prove they need that particlar piece of land when there is so much land around Florence. Curis will even give them some free land if they want but Florence wants the mine stopped. There is no housing boom in Florence, nobody is going to drive 2 hours outside of Phoenix when there are so many forclosed houses. There are no jobs in florence - most of the prison workers live outside of Florence and commute. There is no shopping or industry in Florence. People would rather live in Casa Grand than Flornece. Rankin is costing the taxpayers of Florence alot of money.



Let the EPA do its work. This is one of the most cost effective copper projects around.  Let the state portion part of the project go ahead and see what happens.
