Florence City is run by rankin an 80 yr old guy and town council which is controlled by developers and influeneced by Southwestvaluepartners that hold land next to Curis.  Florence city had a sulphuirc acid ordinace that was thrown out of court.  Curis copper project has 50% deposit which is on state land and 50% which is on land in the city of Florence limits.  Curis ...more

42% of the mineralization is on state land if i recall it correctly and not 50%

From their website, this is the deposit on the state land site (not the controversial city owned site): Copper Deposit The Florence Copper property contains a 429.5 million ton measured and indicated copper oxide resource at a 0.05% total copper cutoff, grading 0.331% copper and containing 2.84 billion lb of copper. Extraction rates vary but are over 70% !    Even if state land goes ahead at current copper prices and low cost of recovery, state land alone stock will be valued at $3.50 -$4 .  Still waiting for EPA permit, then we'll see what happens.

Just thought I would jump in again. After digging into how the UIC process actually works at the EPA, I have no doubts about the issuance of the UIC. As to the constant legal wrangling employed by the town, they are indeed wasting tax payer dollars that they cannot afford to waste. Company has shown great restraint from all the tactics from Florence City - they still try to work with the city even though the city throws dirt into the eyes of Curis,   Rankin the major of Florence is running old boys network whereby developers support him ie Johnston utilities. SWVP bought the land next to Curis after Curis purchase they are a hedge fund - trying to get money ...more
