In contrast to the 2012 Blood Journal paper this one appears to further identify the mechanism of action. Lack of Pg inhibits the end of the inflammation phase of healing.

From the paper:
"The in- ability of the inflammatory phase to resolve is most likely the rea- son why the later phases of wound healing are delayed and aber- rant in plg-deficient mice."
