PLI vs NKE

PLI vs NKEYou can have a phd in health sciences and not know what's going on with PLI with much certainty.
Everybody knows that Nike makes shoes in the third world for a buck or two and sells them for one or two hundred (or more). Nike is just happy making those small profits. They do not have a view to making zillions like PLI. Making $33 billion or so per year seems to satisfy their modest aspirations.

Question: if you could back to 1998, which would you rather buy:

PLI at 2 bucks or NKE at $5.50 ?

What if you had the same choice today?  NKE has a 30% return on equity and unassailable brand power.  PLI? Who knows? They might change the world some day...or they might not ever make a dime in profit.

I hate seeing people lose money in the stock market.  I know many PLI champions will take this as a personal attack. I'm sincerely sorry if I have offended you.

p.s. CONGRATS PLI champions for your smashing victory today.
