RE:DO-27 - leap forward
RE:DO-27 - leap forwardLeslie? They are polishing off Leslie? You have to be kidding me. Goodness. Dont they realize that Washington Co only wants to buy the company to get the few remaining diamonds out and then to put their affiliated company to work to reclaim EKATI and Diavik? Meh. I guess if nobody buys the company, adding Leslie can extend the mine life a couple years, lower the depreciation and put another layer of lipstick on this pig. DO 27 is a good pipe (better than exploration on the EKATI claim block) but its geography is the problem. It is close-ish to EKATI (35km?), and it is closer to Diavik (12km). BUT Diavik is built on an island and bridges are both an expensive and technical challenge on the Tundra. It could be done, but it is not an easy or cheap proposition as you have to transverse some big water to get to Diavik or travel a long long way to get to EKATI ($$$). The thing that Dominion never understood is that they need to find a way to concentrate the ore at the mine face before trucking it to the processing plant this was BHPs plan for Jay until the grade came back in 2008 and they dropped it altogether. I will contend that it would be worthwhile to do something like this at Do27 as well then it probably makes sense to truck it to EKATI . I think the only logical way to extend the life of either DIAVIK or EKATI past 2022 profitably involves DO27.
