DO-27 - leap forward

DDC just announced a brand spanking new maiden resource for an old pipe called Leslie.
It is 7 hectares in size, under a lake..and they have declared an inferred resource with a rock value around $30 per tonne.

Here is the news release -- Leslie Pipe

Sure sounds like DDC is trying to glamour up the leslie pipe as well as all the untapped exploration to be had at lac de gras.

To put this in context. DO-27 has a rock value from about a decade ago of about $70 per tonne.

To put this in context...leslie has 16.3Million carats in 50 million tonnes of material and DO27 has 18.2 million carats in 19 million tonnes of material.

DDC has also tried to push up the carat value by saying a base is $85 per carat and high case of $120 carat that includes an escalation bonus of 2.5%. When are they escalating it to.

Anyway...the news release is a good read..just remind yourself of DO27 as you read it.

LONG...PGD

Hey Mike, How close is the Fox/Misery to D027? I see tjhey have existing/planned roads there. Misery Block The Misery block is a ten kilometre by ten kilometre block centred on the Misery kimberlite complex, approximately 35 kilometres southeast of the Ekati process plant. The Misery Block contains the current mining operations of the Misery and Lynx kimberlites. The original airborne ...more

Not sure how far it is away. I think it can theoretically be used for either millfeed for other mills. Just a bit more haulage to one over the other. I found this article form JK -- JK - DO27 Back in 2005 when DO27 was being reset. I didn't realize that Rio Tinto had some work on it in the early 90's. Long time ago...don't even know if Rio would have anyone that worked on it way ...more

DDC scraping bottom of the barrel.  Ha, ha!!  A snippet from the PGD web site, another 7-8 million tonnes of TFFE at DO27: OVERVIEW Peregrine is focused on adding value to its non-Chidliak North American diamond exploration properties formerly held by Peregrine Exploration Ltd., and to utilize an extensive proprietary database to identify and acquire promising diamond properties for ...more

Leslie? They are polishing off Leslie? You have to be kidding me. Goodness. Dont they realize that Washington Co only wants to buy the company to get the few remaining diamonds out and then to put their affiliated company to work to reclaim EKATI and Diavik? Meh. I guess if nobody buys the company, adding Leslie can extend the mine life a couple years, lower the depreciation and put another layer ...more

I never of that schocor. Both Diavik and Ekati will be paying $$'s to other companies for reclamation of all the the sites and that will cost money plus a mark up. Dennis Washington companies get involved...they will absorb the mark up as part of the whole gig. Lots of capital and big dollars for construction of Jay pipe as well. Dennis Washington could then push the project to use their ...more

Yes - Washington also has a machinery company (Komatsu gear) AND a company that specializes in damn construction - as well as the reclamation company. He would be a good steward of the mine...and he may very well be the only interested party. Regardless, they will still not build Jay. Nobody will. Its a billion dollar bet on a recovering small diamond market - and it costs more to move that dirt ...more
