RE:RE:RE:RE:Baffin Island MineOne of the major responsibilities and obstacles facing Baffinland is hitting their inuit employment targets. And one of the major obstacles to hitting that is that many people cannot handle the shift rotations of 2 weeks on 2 off. As all communities are fly-in-fly-out it would not be economical to make one week shifts but if it was merely a two hour drive you could easily accommodate that. Maybe it wouldnt be a daily commute but it could be weekly, twice weekly or at least there are more options. Not to mention you wouldnt need to fly everyone to some remote air strip, you could land in Iqaluit international airport and bus to the site.
