Floating nuclear power plants.

I brought this up about 6 months ago after reading about it in a CIM Magazine.

Apparently, they've gone so far as to push this technology at the Nunavut Mining Symposium in Iqaluit last week.

Comments ridicule the technology.

I lived in Frobisher Bay for a winter, the tides are the amonst the highest in the world. The tidal action would destroy any man made port, as the Canadian Navy found out a few years ago when they wanted to build a port up there. I can  imagine the environmental radicals would have a field day on this one....

@jamesbay... A deep sea port could be built in Iqaluit, even with the tides. One of the requirements that the Nunavut Impact Review Board might request if this mine is to get approval... they'll need to provide funding to (help) build a deep sea port in Iqaluit. please google: deep sea port Iqaluit You'll see that current residents do in fact want a port... as indicated in article ...more
