What happens when the takeover is done?

Do our shares convert under the name of DeBees or who does it workl? Anyone?

Assuming the vote is greater than 66.7% yes. De Beers will as fast as practical, transfer money to all the brokerages and the brokerages will deposit cash into your account. Your shares will then disappear. LONG...whiteknight! EKIM

Rio had its analyst call recently and the Q/A they were all pro-organic growth and M&A only works at the right price for the right quality project...they did acknowledge that they have a team that creates a 'wishing brief' that regularly go over options that exist in the market place at any given point. Nothing too exciting and nothing pointing to a PGD bid for now. LONG ...more

Was that Rio corporate or the copper and diamond division?

This a snippet from the Diamonds in the Q/A: "Diamonds is – so today, we have two mines. Do we like the diamond as an industry? The answer is, yes. You know Dominic, what I'm going to say is if people think that copper is difficult, we always use copper as a baseline between the time you have a nice rock and the time you've got cash flows it's only 25 years in average, in ...more

I thought the exact same thing, even as I was reading the last lines. Unbelievably ambiguous. Thanks for posting that. Cheers

So my shares dissapear and I only get the value of my shares on 0.24 cad on my account? I can not keep them on 0,24 cad/share en see what happens next?

No, it’s like, selling your car to someone, you don’t get to drive it on the weekend, or I guess you could make that part of the transaction...
Comment by ekim on Aug 03, 2018 8:08am
You could take your cash from the transaction and buy up some Anglo America shares. They probably have a related listing in the US.  Anglo owns 80% of De Beers. Other then that...Botswana owns 20% of De Beers..you could become a citizen of Botswana and see if the develoment of Chidliak bumps your quality of life by 0.00001% LONG....whiteknight! EKIM

Lucara can offer me 1 shr for 6 leaves 50 cents and could still ride the upside, but not holding my breath
Comment by ekim on Aug 03, 2018 10:46am
Wouldn't it be an ironic blast from the past if Blusson/Fipke (each worth over half billion $$'s) did a Joint Bid for Chidliak. There are enough very rich people in the industry (dermot desmond, etc.) who...based on De Beers low ball bid...could conceivably take a shot. LONG....whiteknight EKIM

I guess anyone with deep pockets could buy this puppy, but that’s just not the whole picture, is it?  This ain’t a mine yet, yes, no?
Comment by cudjo on Aug 03, 2018 11:26am
yuppers kodi, not a mine and 500 million ++ to get to one, all off a glossy PEA, only a company with diamond plans other than debeers would even begin to sniff at this, and pretty much anyone who is anyone in diamonds would have taken a sniff by now, or were already offered a whiff, IMO, bros got the best deal they could and want to free up their capital asap.  Another week has come and gone, ...more

Stu Blusson - in addition to owning Archon minerals - reinvested quite heavily along side Wasgington COrp to buy back Ekati from DOminion Diamonds. I think he is probably pretty well taped out at the moment. CHuck FIpke - he is rich, 75?, and loves his racehorses. Although I give it a small chance, it would be awesome.
Comment by Oregonduck on Aug 03, 2018 8:10pm
There is less-than-zero chance Fipke and Blusson singularly and/or jointly will mount an unsolicited or hostile bid for PGD. Why? they both have their own fishes to fry. Chuck has MTX, CD, and DVI. and Blusson has Archon and the Buffer Zone dyke in Ekati held 65% by Dominion (DDC)  and 35% by Archon. DDC was subsequently bought out by Washcorp, a private Seattle Co.,which now owns ...more

That is the problem with all the billionaires in the industry. The average age pushes time as their nemesis...not financing another mine.  Big money was made in the 1990's for those already well on there way to have enough capital to invest and benefit from that money.   Since then, there has been a lot of crazy times where people made money hand over fist and that is why we rarely ...more
