Mining Vice Minister resigned last month, and Mining Minister should be next.. Both couldnt manage Las Bambas problem well. 

Some guys are stuck back in the 70´s mining model. Cannot see that the world changed. They just want to keep the old mining model.

Modern countries of Europe and North America, entitle the surrounding communities to be consulted about any project to be developed in their county and such mechanism is mandatory and binding.  Also, the communities are the owners of the surface and subsurface. Aduviri knows it and is going for it.

If we want to build modern societies and generate wealth, both mechanisms are needed to empower the civil society in front of the private investment and the state. Native communities and landscapes are highly impacted by oil and mining industries that are nonrenewal resources.

Just take a look of what happened with the recently collapsed of the tailing ponds in Brasil or the permanent oil spills in the Amazonian Rainforest that impact water, fauna and land.

This is a legitimate claim from the peasants. My view is that we are just looking the tip of an iceberg (a discussion of what have to be done) and that entrepreneurs don’t want. The communities have a legitimate right to decide their own future and economic model. I cannot agree more with Hernando de Soto. This mining model just doesnt work ....
