Our COO Laurence Stefan provided some interesting information, including his estimate of total uranium resources. If we can produce 6 million pounds of uranium for 70 years, then our total resources would be around 420 million pounds!
https://proactivo.com.pe/peru-puede-producir-uranio-hasta-por-setenta-anos/ Peru can produce uranium for up to seventy years Our country is capable of producing uranium for a period of up to 70 years, estimated Canadian junior Macusani Yellowcake.
Uranium is used for the production of nuclear energy, which is not done in Peru but in other countries of the world, such as France, Spain and the United States, where the mineral would be exported.
"We can have more than 2,000 people involved in the project after two or three years of activities," said Laurence Stefan, chief operating officer of Plateau Energy, parent company of Macusani Yellowcake.
The aforementioned uranium deposits are located in Puno and are related to seven communities in the province of Carabaya.
The executive projected that 6 million pounds of uranium could be produced per year.
The discovery of lithium in Puno, in the Falchani hill, has become an ambitious project in the future. According to the operating company of the Plateau Energy project, lithium could promote the manufacture of electric batteries for cars in Peru, to be exported later. The idea for production of these accessories that are more friendly to the environment is latent and apparently there are already interested.
Laurence Stefan, director of operations at Plateau Energy Metals, said the project has already generated interest in countries such as France and Germany. He added that even in the Babcock & Brown Wind Partners Group (BBW) they has shown attention for this project.
"I can not say that they are going to build batteries tomorrow, but I think our project (in the Falchani hill) is so vast that it has put Peru on the world lithium map", he said.
