The reason Inmet wants an extension is that they did not find a partner yet and they need more time.

First Quantum needs very few of the top stocholders to take over Inmet.  The shareholding of the top 7 holders almost gives them a majority so Inmet got a hard task ahead of them.

If the takeover fails the stock would most certainly return to the $50 level and represent a huge hit for the top fund holders.

Funds do not have any warm feelings about any company.  All they care about is their quarterly performance numbers.  Cash the profit and move on. (I forgot to mention that the fund manager bonus is linked to the fund performance per quarter LOL) So, if you were a fund manager what would you do?

What does that means for PTQ?  They just seat back and watch and they do it with a smile.
