If your partner runs out of funds or gets scared of the initial looks of the reservoir while an exploratory well is being drilled, but you want to finish the drilling, the agreement specifies that you can pay for the rest of the drilling but you get his interest and he doesn't get back in until the well pays you back 5 times what you invested.
