RE:How long shorters short a Stock

RE:How long shorters short a StockVery good question but did you notice how nobody responded?  Direct questions demand direct answers.  At this time, this forum is filled with nothing but finger pointing and illogical rhetoric...

I'll give my opinion.  When Sprott went on the open market with a huge buy order he bid the price up from around .50 to over $1.  That was the real market manipulation that nobody wants to talk about.  At the time I thought WTF!  I mean why in the world would someone go in with such a big bid?  It's almost irresponsible for a holding company to handle other peoples money like that IMO.

So you see, the price above .40 to .60 is just fluff.  It's not real.  The smart money isn't buying above that.  We know this is true because the price has been falling.  If there were more buyers than sellers the price would go up.

Now as for short sellers, sure, they may move the price down short term but IF there were more buyers than currently present the price would still go up and the shorts would get squeezed causing a temporary price spike.  It goes full circle.  Never forget that every short must be covered eventually.

Market manipulations always occur in the direction of the primary trend.  If shorts do have a foothold then yes, they may short this stock down to less than .10 cents.  But that's where it was going anyway.  They just get it there faster is all.

It's irrational to think that a few short sellers can drive down the price of a gold mine that just discovered possibly the biggest gold find in history.  The price is falling because the bids to buy have dried up.

If it were years 2002 to 2007 and this discovery was made this stock would literally be $5.00 to $10.00 easily and NO AMOUNT OF SHORT SELLING COULD STOP IT!  That was then, this is now.  Mining companies are currrently out of favor.

Until investors start pouring in money the "shorts" will have the upper hand in guiding this stock to it's inevitable price.

As a side note.  Someone in here posted that he talked to Sprott and said that he'll buy another 50,000,000 shares if the price goes into the .40's.  Great, wonderful.  I don't believe it but lets say it's true.  Will Sprott go in and push the price up with another open market order?  Or will he put in a limit order at .40 and let it sit there for months?  What could the shorts do then?  Not much.

Point is.  If anyone has manipulated the market on purpose it's Sprott.  Only a complete imbecile would do what he did.  He's the reason why many of you were forced out of your positions.
