Exxon Mobil Corp. and Shell Plc are among energy giants evaluating bids for a stake in Galp Energia SGPS SA’s major oil field offshore Namibia, according to people familiar with the matter.
 
TotalEnergies SE and Equinor ASA are also among those considering acquiring the 40% stake Galp is seeking to sell in the Mopane discovery, said the people, asking not to be identified as the matter is private.

Mopane is just the gourmet appetizer. Wait till Chevron will drill end of this year in our second block. The Namibians gave us already some hints about this promising Chevron main menu and grand finale when Woodside/Pancontinental drill the giant Saturn turbidite.

The 20 billion $ number is becoming a real, palpable value, probably soon approved by one of the major companies, when they transfer the $$$ to Galp for the 40% share of Mopane. Sintana is not anymore a narrow-chested chipper with a visionary exploration strategy. The visionary exploration strategy became reality and real dollars will be paid for Mopane. 5% of 20 billion is still 1 billion. While that dollar amount will not be transferred to SEUSF balance sheet the value in stock appreciation is sure to follow. Sintanas purchase of its Nambibian holdings may turn out to be the deal of the century. Nice close at end to overcome profit taking. GLTA Farrell
