RE: sgl and markets in general Since you asked bigbank, I will put two cents in. Just read an article by Steve Forbes in the latest issue of Forbes and he speaks briefly about the upcoming debt-ceiling crisis that the U.S. will be revisiting again soon. He says the the limit may not be reached until late summer, then the treasury can "play tricks to put of the reckoning until late fall." I would not be too surprised to see a lot of volatility return once this hits headlines again. The other thing I continue to hear (but don't presently have any examples) is that many corporations are sitting on a ton of capital for multiple reasons such as rediculously low interest rates and uncertainty/nervousness in the economy. If this is the case, it is likely making balance sheets look fairly attractive and giving investors confidence, as we have seen a good run as of late. I am by no means an expert. Just a couple of pieces that might fit into the puzzle.
