SIR Royalty Income Fund (the Fund) holds investment in SIR Corp (SIR). The Funds' investment, SIR is engaged in the business of owning and operating full-service restaurants in Canada. SIR has concept restaurant brands, including Jack Astor’s Bar and Grill, Scaddabush Italian Kitchen & Bar, and Canyon Creek Chop House, signature restaurant brands, such as Reds Wine Tavern, Reds Midtown Tavern, Reds Square One, and The Loose Moose, which are used by SIR under a license agreement with SIR Royalty Limited Partnership (the Partnership. The Fund receives distribution income from its investment in the Partnership and interest income from the SIR Loan. The Fund indirectly participates in the revenues generated under the License and Royalty Agreement through its Investment in the Partnership.

RE:RE:RE:Janes food becomes like activist investorFor an investor with bigger appetite, they obviously want to wrap up the whole thing, the private company and the royalty fund, because as for RECIPE, I think their earning from KEG, will be significantly depleted by their obiligation to their Royalty fund and also more overhead to kept the trustee and other staff employed. It definitely will make more sense to wrap up the whole thing, if the cash is available. I don't know what make better sense:
  • buy both at the same time
  • buy fund first and private company
  • buy private company and then fund.
I think that 2nd one make more sense, at least for the first 10% of the fund, because it is publicly traded and they can easily get it from the market. Could be a hybrid of number 1 and 2. In any case, the fund will be in demand.
