In business it’s all about the synergies. Tullow knows Africa, Kenya and the basin. They know how to deal with the Kenyan government. They know how to get things done. They sat by and watched as we stumbled around in the dirt accomplishing very little.
Because we are practically neighbours moving people, camps, machinery is more cost effective. The Calgary group probably had no knowledge about any of these things and became frightened.
Now, we also just tore a page out of Tullow's book on how to find oil. FTG, 2D seismic and drill a well. We are becoming more like them and makes things more interesting to them. It’s easier to work with people that share the shame corporate culture and I’ll also bet they know more about the basin that we do.
