RE:Sucks for investors but probably is a mess for localsIt does suck for investors but even here in Canada different groups often throw up a protest just to try and get a few buck out of the prospective company. Sometimes it works but most times it doesn't. Sometimes it's a legitimate complaint that can be easily rectified. Just part of the process in Canada and the world over. This unfortunately is a bunch of misinformation, they are only doing 2D seismic, no enviromental issues. Some locals had thought that drilling equipment was moving in.
